Ravi Bishnoi reveals why Vaibhav Sooryavanshi is every bowler's nightmare

India’s teenage batting sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi continues to leave everyone stunned, and now even his Rajasthan Royals (RR) teammate Ravi Bishnoi has also showered rich praise on the Bihar lad and has revealed just how difficult it is to bowl to him.

The 15-year-old batter’s explosive and fearless performances in the recent IPL 2026 have impressed not only teammates but also some of the best bowlers around him.

The Rajasthan Royals opener won the Orange Cap for his remarkable performance in IPL 2026, amassing 776 runs at an unbelievable strike rate of over 230.

Even Jofra Archer struggled against Vaibhav Sooryavanshi in the Nets

Ravi Bishnoi said that Vaibhav Sooryavanshi is currently operating on a completely different level. The leg-spinner admitted that among all the batters he has bowled to, nobody is matching the confidence, timing, and control that the teenager is showing right now.

Bishnoi also shared that many Rajasthan Royals bowlers, including himself and Jofra Archer, regularly bowled to Vaibhav during practice sessions, and it was really tough for them to stop the left-hander during the IPL 2026. Given that WV Raman urged India to just play Vaibhav Sooryavanshi on the UK tour.

He also insisted that the youngster is not blindly swinging at every delivery, saying he carefully picks his shots, understands the situation, and attacks with remarkable confidence.

Ravi Bishnoi was quoted as saying by PTI: “He is so good at his job; I don’t think anyone else is even batting remotely close to as well as he does.

“I have bowled to many batters in the nets, but the way he is playing at the moment, I can’t see anyone near him because everyone has bowled to him in the nets, including myself, Jofra Archer, and the others, but with the freedom he bats, it’s not as if he is swinging his bat against every ball; he knows what he is doing, and he is so good at doing it rightly, which separates him from the rest.”

The spinner also pointed out that people often think Vaibhav only depends on big sixes, but in reality, his endless powerful shots left the RR bowlers frustrated during the practice session in the IPL 2026. He said if Vaibhav is hitting 10 sixes in the game, then he is hitting 100 of them in the nets.

Bishnoi highlighted how the bowlers were forced to use the yorkers right from the start because normal new-ball tactics didn’t trouble the youngster, and that makes him a special player.

He signed off by saying, “According to others, what constitutes a good ball is a six-hitting one for him, and that makes him special. He forces bowlers to use yorkers against him from the new ball, which makes the usage of the new ball redundant against him.”

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi eyes big final before Ireland, England tour

Notably, Vaibhav is currently playing for India A in the ongoing one-day tri-series involving Afghanistan A and Sri Lanka A. The opener has so far managed 14, 44, 21, and 38 in the four games, with the final against Sri Lanka. A schedule for Sunday, June 21, in Dambulla.

After the Sri Lanka tour, the teenager will travel to Ireland and England for the T20I series next month, followed by the Asian Games 2026 in Japan.
