Shami replaces Bumrah in India's T20 World Cup squad

Mohammed Shami has replaced Jasprit Bumrah in India’s squad for the T20 World Cup in Australia. Shami has reached Australia and will link up with the squad in Brisbane ahead of the warm-up matches, the BCCI said in a media release.
As reported by ESPNcricinfo earlier, the board also confirmed Mohammed Siraj and Shardul Thakur as backups. The two will travel to Australia shortly.

This also means none of the other reserve players originally named – Shreyas Iyer, Ravi Bishnoi and Deepak Chahar – are travelling at the moment. Chahar was ruled out because of a back injury that sidelined him from the just completed ODI series against South Africa.

The main squad left for Australia on October 6 and has been based in Perth, where the players have had a week-long training camp followed by two practice games against Western Australia.

Squad: Rohit Sharma (capt), KL Rahul (vice-capt), Virat Kohli, Suryakumar Yadav, Deepak Hooda, Rishabh Pant (wk), Dinesh Karthik (wk), Hardik Pandya, R. Ashwin, Yuzvendra Chahal, Axar Patel, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Harshal Patel, Arshdeep Singh, Mohammed Shami
