Ireland opt to bowl in 11 overs-a-side game against Afghanistan; both sides make two changes

Toss Ireland chose to bowl vs Afghanistan

Ireland captain Andy Balbirnie elected to bowl in the fourth T20I against Afghanistan, in a rain-reduced 11-overs-a-side game in Belfast. The toss was delayed by two hours due to a downpour, with the start of play pushed to 5.30pm local time.

Ireland have dropped allrounder Curtis Campher and quick Graham Hume from the previous match and have brought in offspinner Simi Singh and medium pacer Barry McCarthy in a bid to seal the series. Afghanistan will be without fast bowler Fazalhaq Farooqi, who has been ruled out of the series with a side strain. They’ve brought Fareed Ahmad to replace Farooqi, while spin-bowling allrounder Sharafuddin Ashraf replaces batter Usman Ghani.
Hosts Ireland are currently leading the five-match series 2-1. Afghanistan staged a comeback with a 22-run win in the third T20I on Friday.
