Brendan Doggett made two late breakthroughs for South Australia with only 72 overs possible at the Gabba

The match was delayed on the opening morning due to more rain but the Gabba groundstaff did a superb job to get the surface playable and the pitch played well considering all the weather.
South Australia made their first breakthrough in the 13th over with Liam Scott trapping Joe Burns lbw for 13 before Renshaw and Street ground out a 67-run stand to move the Bulls to 1 for 100 after tea. Scott returned to remove Street with a lovely delivery from around the wicket. The left-hander was caught on the crease to a good length ball that angled in and seamed away a touch to brush the outside edge.
Renshaw added 50 more with the inform Jack Clayton before he shouldered arms to Doggett from around the wicket and was adjudged lbw to a ball that did seam back. Doggett made hay with the lights on late in the day bowling a brisk spell trapping Sam Truloff lbw four overs later. Clayton got through to stumps unscathed 31 not out alongside Max Bryant.
