Toss Delhi Capitals choose to bowl v Kings XI Punjab

Kings XI Punjab have left out the opener Chris Gayle, as Delhi Capitals won the toss and chose to bowl first in Mohali.

Gayle made 79 off 47 balls in Kings XI’s tournament opener only a week ago, but the team has chosen to omit him in favour of bringing the England allrounder Sam Curran into the middle order. The Australia seam bowler Andrew Tye has also made way for the Afghanistan offspinner Mujeeb Ur Rahman. The local players from Kings XI’s victorious team on Saturday all remain in the side.

Delhi, meanwhile, have made just one change to the XI that won via a Super Over against Kolkata Knight Riders over the weekend. They have included the 22-year-old right-arm seam bowler Avesh Khan, at the expense of legspinner Amit Mishra.
