Openers Sherry and Hari batted sensibly and contributed 14 runs without losing any wicket, but as the game advanced, after Ansar and Qasim’s quick cameo of 9 runs, the later batsmen couldn’t capitalise on the situation to put up a decent total.
Renegades fielded superbly, getting batsmen run out in the middle overs. Two wickets were lost in the seventh over off Sagar’s bowling, putting Kartik and Ameer under pressure to end their innings by taking just singles. Cobras scored 38 runs to end their innings, which was a gettable target.
In reply, openers Manoj and Deepu scored 14 runs in their allotted 2 overs, running doubles with ease. The poor fielding also contributed, but the second pair of Shahid and Hiren couldn’t capitalise on the situation, the direct hit run out and the excellent caught-and-bowled attempt of Ansar eased the pressure off Cobras. The fielding improved there on as they could sense victory.
Sagar managed to consolidate the innings by hitting a six, and batting along with Solomon, they scored 14 runs. The last pair of Aniket and Asif took risk-free singles and brought the score down to just two runs needed in the last ball.
