SL opt to bat; Imam-ul-Haq debuts for Pakistan

In a must-win game for Sri Lanka, their captain Upul Tharanga opted to bat, saying the side aimed to put runs on the board for the first time this series. They made two changes, with Chamara Kapugedera and fast bowler Dushmantha Chameera coming in. Kusal Mendis and Suranga Lakmal sit this game out.

Pakistan also made two changes to the side that won the first two ODIs. The misfiring Ahmed Shehzad was dropped, with Imam-ul-Haq making his debut. Imad Wasim had to drop to the sidelines with an injury, with Faheem Ashraf taking his place. Victory today would seal the series for Pakistan, and condemn Sri Lanka to their tenth straight defeat.
