Hazlewood injury scare for Australia

Australia suffered an injury scare on the third morning in Mirpur, when fast bowler Josh Hazlewood left the field with soreness in his left side.

Hazlewood had just delivered the first ball of his second over of the day – and his fifth of the innings – when he clutched at his side and consulted with the captain Steven Smith before walking off the field for assessment. It was unclear whether Hazlewood would take any further part in Bangladesh’s second innings.

Hazlewood is one of only two fast bowlers picked by Australia in this Test, along with Pat Cummins, as the selectors instead opted for a spin-heavy attack.

Jackson Bird is the only other frontline fast bowler in the squad, which also includes seam-bowling allrounder Hilton Cartwright, who came on as Australia’s substitute fielder.
