West Indies captain Carlos Brathwaite won the toss and elected to bowl first in the second T20I in Port of Spain. West Indies are unchanged from the side that lost the first T20 by six wickets.

“We’ve batted first and it hasn’t worked out a number of times so we want to change it up,” Brathwaite said. “We had a talk after the first game and now we want to act on our plans.”

Pakistan made one change, with allrounder Mohammad Hafeez dropping out for batsman Fakhar Zaman, who was given his international cap. “We wanted a left-hander in the middle order,” Pakistan captain Sarfraz Ahmed said of the ‘tactical’ change.

“We are looking to post a total around 160-170,” Sarfraz said. “Out batting in the first game was a bit complacent, and we want to improve on that.”

Zaman was called up to the international side after impressing during the recently-concluded Pakistan Super League, making 177 runs at a strike rate of 138.28. In the preceding Quaid-e-Azam trophy, Zaman scored 663 runs at an average of 51, including 170 in the second innings of the final.

All three remaining T20Is will be played at the Queen’s Park Oval in Trindad.
