Taijul Islam‘s last-ball six guided Legends of Rupganj to a tie against Victoria Sporting Club in BKSP. Having left to defend 12 off the last over, Rabbi began with a dot to Abu Hider. His next ball was a wide and the next four balls went for only five runs. Taijul then held his nerve and sealed Rupganj’s first win.
Earlier Victoria, driven by Al-Amin‘s maiden List-A hundred, posted 314 for 9. Al-Amin hit 11 fours and one six during his knock and was assisted by opener Fazle Mahmud who made 73 off 92 balls. Hider dismissed Al-Amin and Suhrawadi Shuvo in the 44th over but Chaturanga de Silva gave late impetus with 44 off 30 balls. Wicketkeeper Dhiman Ghosh also produced a cameo to push his side past 300. Hider eventually finished with career-best figures of 5 for 52.
In reply, Rupganj lost opener Jahurul Islam in the second over and then slipped to 127 for 6 by the 24th over. Captain Mosharraf Hossain and Nahidul Islam added 109 for the seventh wicket to revive the chase. The partnership ended when Nahidul offered a return catch to offspinner Enamul Haque in the 40th over. Mosharraf struck eight fours and one six before falling in the 48th over. Crucial lower-order contributions from Alauddin Babu(22) and Taijul(17*) took Rupganj home.
Half-centuries from Mushfiqur Rahim, Upul Tharanga and Nazmul Hossain Milon led Mohammedan Sporting Club to a 78-run victory over Brothers Union in Mirpur.
Mohammedan lost their openers within eight overs but captain Mushfiqur and Tharanga lifted their team with a 135-run partnership in 24.5 overs. Nazmul, aided by Ariful Haque, then built on the platform with a 41-ball 70 to power Mohammedan to 285.
Mohammad Shahid and Arif Hasan took combined figures of 19-0-102-4. Brothers Union then lost Imrul Kayes for a duck to seamer Subashis Roy. Nafees Iqbal, the other opener, hung on for 26 off 46 balls before falling in the 18th over. Zakir Hasan struck 61 off 82 balls, including three fours and three sixes, but the rest of the middle order crumbled.
Brothers Union were eventually bowled out for 207 with one ball to spare. Roy ended with three wickets, while Habibur Rahman and Enamul Haque jnr picked up two wickets each.
A four-wicket haul from allrounder Muktar Ali set up Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club‘s eight wicket win against Kalabagan Cricket Academy. Having opted to bat, KCA were reduced to 91 for 6. Muktar dismantled the top order and middle order with career-best figures of 4 for 19. He was helped by spinners Sohag Gazi and Mahmudullah, who picked up two wickets each. Only Mehedi Hasan Miraz and No.8 Bishawnath Halder passed twenty as KCA were skittled for 152 in 44.3 overs.
Mahbubul Karim and Joyraz Sheik laid a strong platform for the chase with an 80-run partnership for the first wicket. Karim pressed on to make 78 off 72 balls, including nine fours and two sixes. Ayub and Mahmudullah then produced unbeaten cameos to seal the win.
