Toss: Sunrisers Hyderabad opt to bowl v Gujarat Lions

David Warner, the Sunrisers Hyderabad captain, won the toss and chose to bowl against Gujarat Lions on a surface with a smattering of grass. That went well with Lions’ captain Suresh Raina who said he was thinking of batting first. Sunrisers made one change, with wicketkeeper-batsman Aditya Tare replacing allrounder Ashish Reddy.
Lions gave Dale Steyn his first match of the season in place of James Faulkner who had combined figures of 10-0-94-1 in three matches. They made another change with Ravindra Jadeja, who had missed Lions’ last match against Mumbai Indians because of his marriage, coming back in for Shadab Jakati. Aaron Finch, who had hurt his hamstring during Lions’ last-ball victory against Mumbai, was deemed fit for this game.
