Northants Steelbacks have announced the signing of Sri Lanka international Seekkuge Prasanna for this season’s NatWest T20 Blast.
The 30-year-old leg-spinner and capable lower-order batsman, who may also feature in other formats, is available for the duration of the Steelbacks’ Blast campaign.
Prasanna has played one Test, 25 one-day internationals and six Twenty20s for Sri Lanka.
“We’re delighted to have completed the signing of Seekkuge for the coming season,” Northamptonshire head coach David Ripley said.
“He’s an exciting cricketer with plenty of experience and good stats, and having him for the whole NatWest T20 Blast campaign is obviously a big plus for us.
“There’s a chance we may also see him in other formats during the summer.”
