Dawid Malan thrashed an unbeaten 60 to help Peshawar Zalmi beat Quetta Gladiators by eight wickets in the Pakistan Super League.

Quetta were reduced to 66 for nine by a remarkable spell of bowling from Shahid Afridi, who took 5-7 from his four overs, including a maiden.

Last-wicket pair Grant Elliott and Zulfiqar Babar at least made a game of it by thrashing 63 from 32 balls, before New Zealander Elliott was dismissed by former Lancashire seamer Junaid Khan with the score on 129 and two overs left unused.

Middlesex batsman Malan, who has enjoyed an impressive winter in the Middle East with England Lions, put on 60 for the first wicket with Mohammad Hafeez and 56 with Kamran Akmal.

The left-hander then hit back-to-back boundaries off Mohammad Nawaz to see his side over the line with eight balls to spare.
