South Africa allrounder Albie Morkel and Jharkhand batsman Saurabh Tiwary will play for the Rising Pune Supergiants in the IPL 2016. The pair had played for the Delhi Daredevils franchise in IPL 2015.

Morkel, who missed out on South Africa’s World T20 squad, was purchased by Delhi Daredevils in the IPL 2015 auction for Rs 30 lakh. The allrounder played only four matches for the franchise in the season, scoring 86 runs and taking three wickets. Morkel was a part of the Chennai Super Kings franchise between 2008 and 2013, before being bought by Royal Challengers Bangalore for Rs 2.4 crore (approx $400,000) in 2014. In September last year, he was recalled to the South Africa’s T20 squad after 18 months, but played only one match of the series against India, in Cuttack.

Tiwary, who has played for Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers in previous seasons, was bought by Daredevils in the IPL 2014 auction for Rs 70 lakhs. He was sidelined from IPL 2014 due to a shoulder injury and played seven matches in IPL 2015, scoring 109 runs. The Jharkhand batsman’s best season in the IPL came in 2010, when he scored 419 runs in 16 matches, including three fifties, for Mumbai Indians, who were finalists in that season. He had middling seasons with the bat for Royal Challengers after he was purchased for $1.6 million in the 2011 auction, scoring 487 runs in 40 matches in three seasons between 2011 and 2013. Tiwary played the last of his three ODIs for India in December 2010.
