Luke Wright and Kevin Pietersen led Quetta Gladiators to their second successive eight-wicket win to start the Pakistan Super League.
Sussex skipper Wright was the star turn in the Gladiators’ opening win over Islamabad United, when he struck an unbeaten 86, and followed it today with 47 from 39 balls against Karachi Kings.
Pietersen picked up from where Wright left off, firing an unbeaten 29 from 17 balls, before finishing the game 16 balls early with a six.
The Kings’ two England signings top-scored in their 147 for seven with Ravi Bopara hitting 40 while James Vince added 30 after coming in at three.
It was not enough, however, as Wright and Pietersen – both fresh from helping Melbourne Stars to the Big Bash League final – batted around Pakistan opener Ahmed Shahzad who scored 71 from 46 balls.
