Nigel Hilliard has stepped down as Essex chairman after 15 years in the role.
In a winter of change at the Essex County Ground, Hilliard’s decision is the latest move.
Hilliard, who will remain on the county’s general committee, said: “This has not been an easy decision to reach – but with my other interests taking more of my time, I cannot give the role the time it deserves.
“It has been a great honour and an incredible privilege to serve the club in the role as chairman. I believe my successor has a great opportunity to take the club forward both on and off the field.”
John Faragher will move from deputy to acting chairman on an interim basis.
