Washout in Sydney

The third Test between Australia and West Indies at the Sydney Cricket Ground appears to be heading towards a draw after day three was washed out.

The tourists were unable to add to their 248 for seven as persistent rain kept the players indoors, only the third time in the past 20 years that a full day’s play of Test cricket had been lost in Australia.

With only 11.2 overs possible yesterday too, the wet weather was hampering Australia’s quest for a 3-0 whitewash.
