In a viral video, the teenager joked about not understanding Punjabi songs and opted for Bhojpuri vibes instead, winning hearts from fans.

India clinched a record sixth U-19 World Cup title with a dominant win over England at the Harare Sports Club. Sooryavanshi scored 175 off 80 balls, including 15 fours and 15 sixes. India posted a massive 411/9 in 50 overs, and England were bowled out for 311 in 40.2 overs, sealing a 100-run victory for India.

“Punjabi gaana nahi samajh mein aa raha hai guys. Abhi Bhojpuri lagega.”

The young Indian players then danced freely to a Bhojpuri track, enjoying the moment after weeks of hard work. Sooryavanshi danced in the dressing room to the Bhojpuri song “Sorry Sorry” by Pawan Singh.

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi Stars as India Crush England to Win U-19 World Cup 2026

India dominated England in the U-19 World Cup 2026 title clash. Sooryavanshi smashed 175 runs off 80 balls, including 15 fours and 15 sixes, and took complete control of the match with fearless yet mature batting.

The 14-year-old left-handerscored at a rapid pace from the start and handled both pace and spin with ease. He showed strong game awareness by rotating the strike smartly and punishing loose deliveries on the biggest stage.

The youngster was eventually caught behind by England captain Thomas Rew off Manny Lumsden when India were cruising at 251/3 in the 26th over. By then, the damage was already done, and India went on to post a massive 411/9 in their 50 overs.

England tried to fight back in the chase, with contributions from Ben Dawkins (66) and Caleb Falconer (115 off 67 balls). Falconer was the last batter to be dismissed as England were bowled out for 311 in 40.2 overs, giving India a dominant 100-run victory and the title.

Sooryavanshi said that he backed his instincts to deliver on a big stage. The 14-year-old stated that the team stayed calm and did not put extra pressure. They focused on what had worked for them throughout the tournament, followed their process, and played their natural game.

“I had faith in my skills that I can contribute in big games and today it happened,” Sooryavanshi said at the post-match presentation.

“We weren’t taking too much pressure. We just thought how we had done well in the tournament, we’ll just follow our process and play our natural games,” he added.
