Vaibhav Sooryavanshi’s dream run continues as the 15-year-old batting sensation is now set to make his India debut either in the upcoming two-match T20I series in Ireland or in the five-match T20I series in England next month. The Southpaw who was recently called ‘a national treasure’ was also named in India’s squad for the Asian Games 2026.
Now, all eyes are on whether the left-handed opener gets a place in the playing XI. If he plays, Vaibhav will create history, as he will become the youngest player to represent India in international cricket, surpassing the legendary record set by the greatest, Sachin Tendulkar.

The former England pacer believes the teenager has all the qualities needed to become a special player in the future. Stuart Broad said on the For the Love of Cricket podcast: “He’s got it all, hasn’t he? He’s got it all. He’s even getting into sledging now. OK, the cricket’s too easy. 11 balls. That’s crazy. I’m sure you are probably not hoping, but I am doing the first T20 up in Durham against India. What is that, July the 1st? I just hope he plays.”
Broad signed off by saying, “I really—I’ve actually got to be honest—I think I might be starstruck by him. And do you know what? It isn’t just us buying into the hype. I mean, you’ve obviously seen him; you’ve kept to him. I’ve spent the week with Dinesh Kartik, who’s one of the coaches, an assistant coach at RCB. And, of course, I’m like, seriously, what do you think of this guy? He is unbelievable.”
