Shimron Hetmyer takes 'catch of the T20 World Cup 2026' to dismiss George Munsey

Shimron Hetmyer took a stunner to dismiss Scotland opener George Munsey in the West Indies vs Scotland T20 World Cup 2026 Match 2 at the Eden Gardens, Kolkata. The catch Hetmyer claimed is currently in the race for the catch of the tournament.

Scotland started their chase in a watchful manner. The West Indies bowling line-up was not allowing the batters to free their arms. With the rising asking run rate, George Munsey had no option but to take the aerial route. He smashed Shamar Joseph with a flat bat, which went towards the deep backward square leg region, where Hetmyer grabbed the ball in the air. The fielder threw his body into the air, stretching his arm, and palmed it without making a mistake. A one-handed stunner to dismiss the batter.
