Rinku Singh returns home midway through T20 World Cup

Team India has already been dealing with problems with their performances in the 2026 T20 World Cup, especially with the batting. They have collapsed in almost every game and struggled on the slow pitches in India. India did not have the best of starts for the Super 8 campaign suffering a 76 run defeat against South Africa.

The Men in Blue will face Zimbabwe in their next game, ahead of the match Suryakumar Yadav’s side has once again been on the backfoot, as batter Rinku Singh, has rushed back to his home due to medical emergency. He was not even present during India’s practice session today.

The fans will hope everything is fine, as India would not want their best finisher to be out of the tournament. As per reports, from Kushan Sarkar, Yashasvi Jaiswal is set to replace him, in case he does not return on time.

India has been dealing with off field issues during the 2026 T20 World Cup, previously Abhishek Sharma was out with a stomach bug and missed a game against Namibia. With Rinku Singh back home India’s playing combination will once again be affected. As they might need to bring in Sanju Samson if Rinku does not feature.

The majority of the emergency has not been confirmed yet, as the Men in Blue management will be hopeful that he returns before 26th February, Thursday, as the India National Cricket Team will face Zimbabwe at the MA Chidambaram Stadium.
