Reacting to the incident, former Indian spinner Ravichandran Ashwin felt India A could not stay calm in the pressure moments and said the no-ball call remains debatable. He also felt Sri Lanka A’s approach before the Super Over added to the tension and made the situation ugly.
Ashwin shared a screengrab of a news story on his X (formerly Twitter) handle and wrote, “These games won’t have as many cameras as we are used to seeing in the IPL. The no-ball call in the super over was debatable, and the way Sri Lanka delayed coming into bat in the super over really irked the India A side. Tilak Varma proud of India A despite heartbreaking Super Over defeat
After the match, Tilak Varma was disappointed by the result but was happy with his team’s efforts. Tilak said at the post-match presentation, “The games have been very close; this one went close, and unfortunately we lost it in the Super Over.
The partnership between Suryansh and Vipraj was outstanding, and they did a good job. Overall, the bowling was good. The spinners were excellent, and Arshad bowled well in the death overs.”
