The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has reportedly approved its operational budget for the 2026-27 financial year. According to a report by Geo Super on Monday, the Men in Green will have a busy international schedule as they will play a tri-series against Ireland and Zimbabwe.
The Ireland-Zimbabwe tri-series will be Pakistan’s second tri-nation assignment of the season. The team is scheduled to play an ODI tri-series featuring Sri Lanka and England. The PCB Board of Governors also approved the schedule for all men’s, women’s, and regional domestic tournaments for the 2026-27 season.
Pakistan’s 2026-27 Schedule Includes Ireland, England, Sri Lanka and New Zealand
According to Geo Super, the PCB’s approved budget for the 2026-27 financial year includes funding for both existing and newly planned international tours. The report stated that Pakistan will tour Ireland for a one-off Test before travelling to England for a five-match ODI series.
The report also said that Ireland will later visit Pakistan for a one-off Test as part of the reciprocal arrangement. Pakistan are also scheduled to host Sri Lanka for a two-Test and three-T20I series during the same cycle.
In addition, Geo Super reported that New Zealand will tour Pakistan for a two-match Test series. These fixtures are part of the PCB’s international calendar approved under the 2026-27 budget.
PCB Expands Development Tours for Shaheens, Women’s and Age-Group Teams
The PCB has also allocated funds for Pakistan’s development teams as part of its 2026-27 budget. The report stated that Pakistan Shaheens will tour Australia, where they are scheduled to play eight T20 matches to give emerging players more international exposure.
Geo Super also reported that England Under-19 will tour Pakistan for three one-day matches and two three-day games. Sri Lanka Under-17 will also visit Pakistan for a bilateral series, while Pakistan will host a Women’s Under-19 tri-series featuring Sri Lanka and Bangladesh.
The report added that Pakistan’s senior women’s team will host New Zealand for a three-match T20I series. They will then travel to the West Indies to play three ODIs and three T20Is as part of their international schedule for the 2026-27 season.
Pakistan Bounce Back with ODI Series Win Over Australia
Pakistan recovered well after a difficult start to the year, which included a 2-0 Test series defeat to Bangladesh away from home. The Men in Green won the ODI series against Australia 2-1 at home. It was Australia’s first ODI tour of Pakistan since 2022.
Arafat Minhas was named Player of the Series for his all-round performances, while Shaheen Shah Afridi finished as the leading wicket-taker with seven wickets. Josh Inglis scored the most runs in the series with 129, while Babar Azam was Pakistan’s highest run-scorer with 125.
Pakistan won the opening ODI in Rawalpindi by five wickets after chasing 200. Australia leveled the series in Lahore with a 41-run victory after posting 231/9 and bowling Pakistan out for 190.
The deciding ODI turned into a low-scoring contest. Shaheen Shah Afridi starred with the ball as Australia were bowled out for 157. Pakistan then chased down the target, finishing on 161/6 in 41.5 overs to seal the series 2-1.
