Mohsin Naqvi's conspiracy theory against Babar Azam exposed! Ex-Pakistan cricketer drops bombshell

Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) press conference on Monday regarding their upcoming central contract system has created widespread debates among the cricket fans and cricket experts of Pakistan. As the board has clarified that the vital information about each player’s contract would not be disclosed, questions have been raised.

Former Pakistan cricketer Tanvir Ahmed smells conspiracy, in the name of reformation, against their batting stalwart Babar Azam. The former international cricketer claims that the Mohsin Naqvi-led cricket board is arranging a fresh central contract system for the players only to sideline Babar Azam.

PCB announced changes in its central contract system

Since Naqvi and the other PCB officials made their announcement in public through the press conference, Tanveer Ahmed remains as vocal who is totally against PCB’s newly thought central contract system.

What did the board announce about the central contract? The board has made it clear that from the upcoming circle of the contract sessions, the Pakistan Cricket Board has decided not to disclose the names of the players and the number of central contracts handed to them in each of their five categories under the new system.

“The Board will not be disclosing how many contracts sit within each track. The number and distribution of contracts is a selection matter, reviewed each cycle and not a fixed public figure,” PCB mentioned in their official statement, during Monday’s press conference held in Lahore.

All efforts only to remove Babar Azam from the T20Is?

Tanvir Ahmed expressed his anger over the board by saying that the only reason behind PCB’s new contract system is to put Babar Azam out of the T20 International team. Through the online discussion, the former cricketer claims that the board has been trying to snub Babar Azam from the team, but they couldn’t.

Under the leadership of Babar, Peshawar Zalmi won the title in the Pakistan Super League 2026 (PSL 2026). Babar himself ended the season as the top run scorer with 588 in 11 matches, averaging 73.50.

Tanvir Ahmed alleged that after Babar’s success in the PSL 2026, PCB needed to come up with new thoughts, and the newly introduced central contract system is a part of their plan.

“The only reason the central contract was made is to exclude Babar Azam from T20s, because they couldn’t figure out any other way to drop him. Even in the PSL, he’s given top performances, yet the entire contract was changed because of just one player,” Tanvir Ahmed claims.

The 2026 T20 World Cup was one of the lows in Babar’s career

Meanwhile, Babar Azam’s last match for Pakistan was an ODI against Australia on June 4, 2026, at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore. In this match, he batted and scored 40 runs.

His last T20I for the nation was against England on February 24, 2026, during the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Super Eights stage in Pallekele. In this match, the middle-order batter scored 25 runs off 24 balls. The tournament marked one of his lows in his international career, as he was not allowed to bat when the team needed to gather runs at a quick rate.
