Marcus Stoinis walks out after a nasty blow to his hand
Australians failed to pick wickets in the middle overs. Adam Zampa and Matt Kuhnemann, the two spinners alongside Glenn Maxwell, could not pick wickets as Ryan Burl and Brian Bennett held onto the innings with a half-century partnership.
Marcus Stoinis was called in to bowl the 16th over of the game in the hope of a breakthrough. Stoinis bowled well; however, he was smacked back past his head for a boundary on the fourth ball of the over. Another full toss on the very next delivery was hit straight back, and Stoinis failed to judge it, as the ball struck sharply above his left hand’s metacarpals.
Stoinis was immediately seen holding his hand and called in for the physio. He stayed until the physio rushed in, then walked out of the ground, with Cameron Green stepping in to bowl the final ball of the over.
