
Harshit Rana has been one of the mainstays for the Indian team in the white-ball format. The Delhi pacer was also in the 2026 T20 World Cup squad; however, Rana was ruled out due to an injury he sustained during the warm-up game against South Africa. He was seen holding his knee while walking off the pitch.
Harshit Rana has undergone surgery after suffering from joint tenderness during the game against the Proteas. He, while posting on his Instagram, stated, “Surgery done right ✅ , now focused on recovery and getting back to what I love.”

Harshit Rana has been replaced by Mohammed Siraj in the T20 World Cup squad. Rana might also be missing out on the TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) as it will take him some months to recover after the surgery, and he has to go under rehab at the BCCI Centre of Excellence to get the fitness certificate ahead of any further participation.
