Deepti Sharma has officially become India’s leading wicket-taker in women’s international cricket, surpassing the Indian great Jhulan Goswami in the wicket-taking tally.
Deepti Sharma creates history for the Indian women’s cricket team
The former team India captain ended her career with 355 international wickets, and Deepti now has 356, representing India across the formats. As soon as she dismissed the dangerous Aussie opener Beth Mooney, Deepti claimed the top rank of the list.
According to the stats, after the wicket of Beth Mooney, Deepti, a spinner, has confirmed 22 wickets in Tests, 166 wickets in ODIs, and 168 wickets in T20Is.

The other two batters, Jemimah Rodrigues and captain Harmanpreet Kaur also played well. Harmanpreet Kaur scored a rapid fire 56-run knock from 27 balls, smashing six 4s and three 6s, with a strike rate of 207.41. While the top-end batters of the team did well, the injury of Jemimah Rodrigues was an alarming sign for the team, as she had to leave the crease retired hurt.
