
Bangladesh T20 World Cup squad: The Bangladesh Cricket Board has unveiled the squad for the T20 World Cup 2026, which will be co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka in February-March. Wicketkeeper-batter Litton Das has been named captain, with Mohammed Saif Hassan appointed vice-captain, as Bangladesh prepare for the tournament.
There are reports that Bangladesh may refuse to travel to India for the World Cup. Bangladesh’s matches are set to take place in Kolkata, but the team is reportedly unwilling to play in India. Bangladesh’s sports minister, Asif Nazrul, has approached the ICC to request that Bangladesh’s matches be moved out of India.
Litton Das Named Bangladesh Captain for T20 World Cup 2026
Bangladesh will enter the T20 World Cup with Litton Das leading the side in India and Sri Lanka. The team has selected a balanced and competitive squad and will look to take advantage of familiar subcontinent conditions.
The bowling attack will play a major role in Bangladesh’s plans. Experienced fast bowlers Mustafizur Rahman and Taskin Ahmed will lead the pace unit. On slower and turning pitches, spinners Mahedi Hasan, Nasum Ahmed, and Rishad Hossain are expected to play key roles.
In the batting department, Bangladesh will rely heavily on Litton Das to anchor the innings. At the top of the order, Tanzid Hasan and Parvez Hossain Emon will look to provide quick starts and attacking intent, giving the middle order a solid platform.
