The Telangana Cricket Association (TCA) has provided some amazing cricketers to India over the years. From the likes of Mohammad Azharuddin, Ambati Rayudu, Mohammed Siraj, and Tilak Varma. All cricketers have made their names in different ways for the India National Cricket Team. Now the latter three cricketers have landed in legal trouble.

The TCA issued legal notices to cricketers Tilak Varma, Ambati Rayudu, and Mohammed Siraj, along with film actors Vijay Deverakonda and Venkatesh, over their involvement in the TG20 League. The TCA alleged in the notification that the Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) was doing business with corporate organisations without the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) permission.

TG20 set to be banned?

They are promoting the TG20 League without such approval, which is a violation. The organization has raised concern over the league’s regulatory stance and the potential consequences of celebrity endorsements. As per the reports from Telugu 360, the HCA has been collecting funds and organising commercial cricket operations under an unauthorised banner, also misleading the corporate partners and cricket fans.

The TCA previously did a protest at the Indira Park in Hyderabad against the termed illegal conduct surrounding the TG20 League on the very day the HCA held its player auction as well. In Telangana Today, General Secretary Guruva Reddy cited some specific HCA laws to support the association’s position. He stated that Rule 28 lays the burden for choosing the Governing Council entirely on the HCA General Body through a formal election.

This Rule 31 would also apply to prominent players like Tilak Varma and Mohammed Siraj- Guruva Reddy

“Furthermore, under Rule 30, the HCA Governing Council must obtain written permission from the BCCI. Without following any of these rules, a self-proclaimed Governing Council is deceiving the public by claiming they have BCCI permission when they do not,” he was quoted by the outlet as saying.

Reddy further warned about the severe repercussions for all parties involved. “As a consequence, under Rule 31, the recognition of the HCA can be revoked, and participating players, officials, and organisations can face bans. This Rule 31 would also apply to prominent players like Tilak Varma and Mohammed Siraj.”

Tilak Varma leads India A to the final

Mohammed Siraj and Tilak Varma are currently in different stages as the former pacer has been rested from the ODI series against Afghanistan after playing the Test and also the upcoming T20I series against Ireland and England to manage his workload and prevent burnout. Following consultations between the BCCI Medical Team and team management.
