Italy suffer injury scare in T20 World Cup debut against Scotland
The frightening incident happened during the fielding when a powerful shot from Scotland batter George Munsey led to unexpected trouble for the Italian skipper. On the second ball of the four overs, Scottish batter Munsey took full advantage of a loose delivery from Italy bowler Thomas Draca.

The ball was short and wide outside the off stump, giving Munsey enough space. He moved across the crease, stayed well balanced, and hit the ball cleanly with good control. Using his wrists, Munsey played a strong pull shot toward the leg side.
George Munsey’s shot forced Wayne Madsen to walk off with a likely shoulder injury
At that moment, Madsen, who was stationed at wide mid-on, tried to save the boundary, but the ball eventually went for four runs. Unfortunately, the Italy captain fell heavily on his left shoulder. He was seen immediately holding his arm and showing clear signs of pain.
Medical staff rushed in as Madsen struggled to get up, and the situation looked serious. Early signs suggested a possible shoulder dislocation, but it could also be a serious injury. Madsen was unable to continue and had to walk off the field at the Eden Gardens.
