Shiv Thakor, the Derbyshire all-rounder, has been suspended by the club after allegations he indecently exposed himself to two women.
Thakor, a former England U19 player, has not been arrested but voluntarily attended a police station in Derby where he was questioned. Derbyshire subsequently suspended the 23-year-old on full pay pending a further investigation.
He has not been charged.
ESPNcricinfo understands the incident occurred when Thakor was being shown round a new house by a pair of female estate agents. It is alleged he catastrophically misread the signals and was found in a bedroom in a state of undress. It is understood that CCTV footage of some of the event exists.
“Shiv has been suspended on full pay pending an investigation,” a Derbyshire spokesman confirmed to ESPNcricinfo. “He has not been charged by police and there is no further comment to make at this stage.”
“A 23-year-old man voluntarily attended St Mary’s Wharf police station and was interviewed in connection with the alleged offences,” a Derbyshire Police spokeswoman told The Sun.
