Great news for Afridi, Misbah
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif announced Rs.10 million prize money for former Misbah, Younis & Shahid Afridi.
The announcement came during the ceremony held in honour of Pakistan cricket team, to celebrate their historic win in the recently concluded ICC Champions Trophy.
The Green Shirts went on to beat arch-rivals India in the finals by 180 runs.
Pakistan former Test skipper, Misbah ul Haq along with veteran batsman Younis Khan announced their retirement this year, during Pakistan tour of West Indies where Misbah’s men went on to beat the hosts, for the very first time in their cricketing history.
In his tenure, Misbah had led Pakistan to 26 wins in 56 Test matches.
Earlier, Pakistan’s star all-rounder Shahid Afridi announced his retirement from international cricket, ending an illustrious and 21-year cricketing career.
