Kent have announced the departure of all-rounder Ben Harmison.

The 30-year-old, the younger brother of former England paceman Steven Harmison, arrived at the Spitfire Ground, St Lawrence from Durham in 2011.

The former England Under-19 international registered four centuries for Kent, including two in an impressive 2013 campaign that saw him amass 712 County Championship runs at an average of 44.50.

His improved medium-pace bowling also saw him become an import cog in the Spitfires’ limited-overs wheel in 2014.

A club statement read: “Everyone at Kent wishes Ben and his family all the best for the future.”
