Adam Voges will captain a Prime Minister’s XI side blending experience and youth in a Twenty20 match against Sri Lanka this month. Voges will be joined in the side by George Bailey and Joe Burns, while former Australia captain Michael Clarke will serve as the team’s coach for the February 15 fixture at Manuka Oval in Canberra.

Victoria batsman Will Pucovski, who is currently making his Sheffield Shield debut in Melbourne, is one of three teenagers in the side, along with 17-year-old batsman Jason Sangha and 18-year-old spinner Arjun Nair.

“It’s part of the pick and stretch policy we have with our young players, to keep exposing them to more challenges at the highest level possible, to help them develop their skills,” national talent manager Greg Chappell said.

“We believe that playing against a touring team and sharing the dressing room with some players that have represented their country is a great learning opportunity for these young players.”
