Sri Lanka captain Dinesh Chandimal, coach Chandika Hathurusingha and manager Asanka Gurusinha have “agreed” to not participate in the two Tests against South Africa, after the ICC concluded its hearing on the trio pleading guilty to a level three spirit of cricket offence. The ICC tweeted on Thursday that the judicial commissioner would announce his decision in “due course” and in the interim, Chandimal, Hathurusingha and Gurusinha opted out of the two-Test series starting Friday in Galle.
The three were charged over their roles in delaying the start of play for almost two hours on the third day of the St Lucia Test against West Indies last month, amid a ball-tampering row.
