England nick win, but Munro's charge takes New Zealand into final

New Zealand won the toss and decided to bowl against England
Live scorecard and ball-by-ball details

England are pointless in this tri-series yet still have a chance of reaching the final against Australia. They are facing a New Zealand side still shellshocked from events at Eden Park where they failed to defend 243.

The home side remain slightly better placed, because they can lose and still go through if England’s margin of victory isn’t large enough. With New Zealand having won the toss and opted to bowl, England need to win by at least 20 runs.

New Zealand have also been boosted by the return of Mitchell Santner after he missed the carnage in Auckland due to a knee injury. He replaces Ben Wheeler who endured a chastening experience two days ago when he was pulled from the attack after two big full tosses in his final over, which probably prevented him from registering the most expensive T20I figures.

England have made three changes – but none of them involve a hasty return for Ben Stokes. Eoin Morgan is back after his groin strain, while Tom Curran and Liam Dawson replace the pace pair of Liam Plunkett (injured) and Mark Wood (dropped).

New Zealand 1 Martin Guptill, 2 Colin Munro, 3 Kane Williamson (capt), 4 Ross Taylor, 5 Mark Chapman, 6 Colin de Grandhomme, 7 Tim Seifert (wk), 8 Mitchell Santner, 9 Tim Southee, 10 Ish Sodhi, 11 Trent Boult

England 1 Jason Roy, 2 Alex Hales, 3 Dawid Malan, 4 Eoin Morgan (capt), Jos Buttler (wk), 6 Sam Billings, 7 Liam Dawson, 8 David Willey, 9 Chris Jordan, 10 Adil Rashid, 11 Tom Curran
