Hilton Cartwright was run out with 44 still needed but the home side did it with ease

Western Australia 299 (Cartwright 73, Green 61, McAndrew 5-84) and 4 for 121 beat South Australia 128 and 291 (Hunt 108, Carder 68, Paris 5-63) by six wickets

Cameron Green and Josh Philippe ensured Western Australia did not suffer significant alarms in wrapping up a six-wicket victory against South Australia.

Having stumbled to 3 for 39 in pursuit of 121 the previous evening there was a chance of a few nerves when Hilton Cartwright became the second run out of the innings with 44 still needed – he was also fortunate to escape injury after getting tangled with Alex Carey.

However, Philippe made short work of the rest of the chase with 31 of 38 balls while Green remained unbeaten to complete a solid match following his first-innings half-century which had built a lead that proved decisive.

For a time on the third day it appeared South Australia would set a more challenging target but they collapsed for 1 for 212 as Joel Paris claimed a five-wicket haul.
