Toss Sri Lanka opt to bat v Bangladesh
Sri Lanka captain Dimuth Karunaratne elected to bat in the first of three ODIs against Bangladesh. The hosts would want to give Lasith Malinga a winning farewell in his final ODI.
Sri Lanka made two changes from their XI that played their final league fixture at the World Cup, against India. The fast bowling pair of Nuwan Pradeep and Lahiru Kumara replaced Isuru Udana and Kasun Rajitha.
Bangladesh, under a stand-in captain in Tamil Iqbal, made four changes from their last World Cup fixture as they are without regular captain Mashrafe Mortaza (hamstring injury), top performer Shakib Al Hasan (rested), Liton Das (wedding) and Mohammad Saifuddin (back injury).
In came Mohammad Mithun, Sabbir Rahman, Rubel Hossain and Shafiul Islam, who will play his first ODI since October 2016.
