West Indies captain Carlos Brathwaite decided to field first in the first T20I against Bangladesh in Basseterre. Shortly thereafter, the rains came down in St Kitts, bringing the covers on and delaying start.

The home side are without Chadwick Walton, Sherfane Rutherford and Sheldon Cottrell from their 14-man squad. Chris Gayle, who has been rested from this series, has been replaced by Rovman Powell in the XI from their last T20I.

From Bangladesh’s previous T20I, Abu Jayed has been dropped, and in his place is Rubel Hossain. Mustafizur also makes his way in, replacing Abu Hider.

The three-match T20I series will be the last leg of the tour. After being crushed 2-0 inside five days in the Test series, Bangladesh bounced back to clinch the ODIs 2-1. The second and third games of the T20I series will take place at Lauderhill in Florida.
