Toss Zimbabwe chose to bowl v Pakistan
Zimbabwe won the toss and opted to bowl first. Rain in the morning in Bulawayo meant cloudy conditions for the start of the first ODI, making the decision to insert Pakistan in a fairly simple one for Zimbabwe captain Hamilton Masakadza.
The home side has handed debuts to 20-year-old wicketkeeper Ryan Murray as well as former Under-19 captain, offspinner Liam Roche.
Sarfraz Ahmed was quite clear he also had wanted to bowl first. Pakistan fielded a side with a number of players not seen in the preceding T20I tri-series. Imam-ul-Haq returned at the top of the order, Babar Azam made a comeback from the arm injury he sustained against England at Lord’s, and Asif Ali made his ODI debut.
