Rajasthan Royals captain Ajinkya Rahane elected to bowl against Delhi Daredevils at Feroz Shah Kotla, where the home team are yet to lose this season. Royals and Daredevils could end up on tied points if that trend continues but the things could get dire for Daredevils if they lose. Starting this game at the bottom of the table, they would be in danger of falling far behind the cluster because Mumbai Indians, who are just above them, will have a game in hand.

To support their respective pushes for a good standing at the end of the evening, the teams made a total of three changes. Daredevils brought in left-arm spinner Shahbaz Nadeem to replace legspinner Rahul Tewatia. Royals replaced Mahipal Lomror and Ish Sodhi with Shreyas Gopal and D’Arcy Short respectively.

Delhi Daredevils: 1 Colin Munro, 2 Prithvi Shaw, 3 Shreyas Iyer (capt), 4 Rishabh Pant (wk), 5 Glenn Maxwell, 6 Vijay Shankar, 7 Shahbaz Nadeem, 8 Liam Plunkett, 9 Amit Mishra, 10 Avesh Khan, 11 Trent Boult

Rajasthan Royals: 1 Ajinkya Rahane (capt), 2 D’Arcy Short, 3 Sanju Samson, 4 Ben Stokes, 5 Jos Buttler (wk), 6 Rahul Tripathi, 7 K Gowtham, 8 Jofra Archer, 9 Dhawal Kulkarni, 10 Shreyas Gopal, 11 Jaydev Unadkat
