Is time running out for Yuvraj Singh to fire? Whom should CSK play in place of the injured Suresh Raina? James Faulkner and Ajit Agarkar have their say

With the plausibility of dew impacting the efficiency of their spinners, Chennai Super Kings captain MS Dhoni chose to bowl against Kings XI Punjab in Mohali. A calf injury meant Suresh Raina missed his first game for Super Kings. M Vijay, formerly with Kings XI, was brought in for his first game in Super Kings’ only change from their win against Kolkata Knight Riders in their previous game.

“At this time of the year, quite a few venues have dew, so it’s better to chase,” Dhoni said at the toss. “We’re a team of overaged boys, so we need to watch our workloads. But with age comes experience.”

Kings XI made two changes from their defeat against Royal Challengers Bangalore in their previous game, bringing in Chris Gayle and Barinder Sran for Marcus Stoinis and Axar Patel. At the toss, Kings XI captain R Ashwin said Axar was a forced exclusion due to a “small niggle”.

Super Kings are second on the points table, with two come-from-behind wins in two games. After splitting their two games, Kings XI are placed fourth.
