Rawalpindi CC down Asian Tigers

Rawalpindi CC clinch victory against Asian Tigers (14:30)

An excellent all-round performance from Rawalpindi saw them dominate the Asian Tigers (14:30)

There seems to be a trend that the team batting first is always in control of the match, which begs to make me question – would the result have been different if the teams had been swapped?

Yesterday was no different, Rawalpindi while batting first, started positively, taking singles & doubles with ease and hitting the boundary when necessary. No pressure was put on their batsmen by the Asian Tigers bowlers.

Rawalpindi could have finished with a much higher total, if they hadn’t gone for needless running in the last two overs, they were 40 runs after the sixth over. And they finished on 40 at the end of the innings as well.

In reply, Asian Tigers were in pressure right from the start. The opening batsmen looked completely lost to one of the best opening spells, they could only manage to score couple of risky singles and after 2 overs the scorecard read -16 for 4 wickets.

From thereon, Asian Tigers had no point of recovery, their entire innings stayed in a negative score and they lost wickets at regular intervals.
