Pakistan legend Shahid Afridi is set to play for Hampshire in the opening round of the Natwest T20 Blast against Glamorgan in Cardiff on Friday night.
Shahid Afridi, whose last competitive match was for Peshawar Zalmi in the 2017 edition of the Pakistan Super League played in the UAE in March, has re-signed for Hampshire once again this season for eight weeks of twenty over cricket.
The 37-year-old all-rounder turned out for the county in last year’s competition but failed to make an impression with either bat and ball, however, the crowd favourite is back for another two-month stint at the Ageas Bowl.
Afridi, who announced his international retirement in February, last played for Pakistan during the 2016 ICC World Twenty20.
