The Jamaica Tallawahs is one of the six teams that was part of the inaugural Caribbean Premiere League in the year 2013. This team represents the famous part of Caribbean Jamaica. They play of their home games in the Sabina Park located in the Kingston, Jamaica. The team in the CPL is known for its formidable home record. It had ensured that any team would find it difficult in beating them when they visit the home ground.
Participation in the Caribbean Premiere League
The inaugural season of 2013 saw the Jamaica Tallawahs end their season in the 2nd position winning 5 out of 7 matches. The team then made it to the semifinals where they won it against the Barbados Tridents and later won the finals against the Guyana Amazon Warriors.
In the year 2014 they started off as the defending champions and ended up 4th in the league table winning 6 out of 9. The team then won the playoff 1 against the Trinbago Knight Riders but later failed to reach the finals as they lost to Guyana Amazon Warriors.
In year 2015 the team ended the league stage in the 4th position winning 4 matches out of 10. In the playoffs round the team lost its 1stround against Trinbago Knight Riders and got knocked out of the tournament.
The year 2016 again saw the rise of the team from Jamaica as they ended their league stage as the winners and went into the qualifying round where they lost the first qualifier to Guyana Amazon Warriors but later won the 2nd qualifier against the Trinbago Knight Riders to reach the finals. In the final match the team emerged to be the champions as they beat Guyana Amazon warriors by 9 wickets lifting the title for the 2nd time.
