Can change of scenery do West Indies good?
Jason Holder pushed into the second half of the match the prospect of the brothers Hope, Shai and Kyle, opening the innings for West Indies. After overnight rain delayed the start of the match by 45 minutes, West Indies won their third straight toss and asked India to bat for a third straight time. In the first match, only rain prevented India from reaching 300; in the second they crossed the mark in 43 overs.
West Indies made three changes to their side, handing debuts to Kyle Hope and Kesrick Williams, and bringing Rovman Powell back. They left out Kieran Powell – who was dropped from the squad after the first two ODIs – Jonathan Carter and Alzarri Joseph.
India resisted the temptation of giving Rishabh Pant a debut as they persisted with the same XI.
