Under mostly sunny skies and with a bagpiper blaring on the steps of The Grange pavilion, Scotland captain Kyle Coetzer won the toss and elected to bat first for the second match in a row as his team pursues its maiden ODI series victory over a Full Member.

Josh Davey made his return to Scotland colors for the first time this home summer, the first international for the Somerset seamer since the January tour to the UAE for the Desert T20 and ODI tri-series with UAE and Hong Kong. Davey came into the XI for Safyaan Sharif.

For Zimbabwe, Richard Ngarava made way for Chris Mpofu as expected after conceding the second-worst figures for a Zimbabwean in ODIs in Thursday’s loss. There was no room for Chamu Chibhabha in the XI, though, as Ryan Burl got one more opportunity despite a string of low scores in his first six ODIs.

Scotland: 1 Kyle Coetzer (capt), 2 Matthew Cross (wk), 3 Calum MacLeod, 4 Richie Berrington, 5 Preston Mommsen, 6 Con de Lange, 7 Craig Wallace, 8 Michael Leask, 9 Josh Davey, 10 Alasdair Evans, 11 Chris Sole
