Chopra: Bhuvneshwar best bowler in this IPL
Sunrisers Hyderabad became the third side, after Royal Challengers Bangalore and Delhi Daredevils, to opt to bat first this season. David Warner, Sunrisers’ captain, said runs on the board would be crucial on a used surface. They made two changes, handing an IPL debut to fast bowler Mohammad Siraj, who was bought for INR 2.6 crore (approx USD 388,000) at the auction in February, and giving Kane Williamson his first match of the season. They came in for Afghanistan spin-bowling allrounder Mohammad Nabi and left-arm seamer Barinder Sran.
Daredevils made one change, bolstering their spin attack by bringing in the offspinning allrounder Jayant Yadav for fast bowler Mohammed Shami. Corey Anderson, who was unwell for Daredevils’ previous match, against Kolkata Knight Riders, was reported to have recovered, but Angelo Mathews was picked ahead of him. Zaheer Khan, Daredevils’ captain, expected the track to remain the same throughout the match.
