Dinesh Karthik’s unbeaten fifty steered Gujarat Lions to a tense six-wicket win over Royal Challengers Bangalore in Rajkot, as the hosts held their nerve to chase 181 with three balls to spare. Virat Kohli’s maiden T20 century had put an above-par total on the board but early fireworks from Dwayne Smith and Brendon McCullum were followed by sensible accumulation from their team-mates to fashion a thrilling Lions victory.
