Keaton Jennings
Opener Jennings became only the third Durham batsman to score two centuries in a Specsavers County Championship match, following up 116 with an unbeaten 105 during their rain-affected draw with Somerset at Emirates Riverside.
Jake Ball
Ball only took one wicket in Surrey’s first innings, but then inspired Nottinghamshire to the top of Division One with both bat and ball. The paceman returned figures of 5-98 to help dismiss Surrey for 389, leaving Notts with a victory target of 169, before holding his nerve to hit the winning runs after a collapse.
Keith Barker
Barker started his season in style, reducing Hampshire to 189 for eight with fine figures of 5-44 after Warwickshire skipper Ian Bell opted to bowl on a green-tinged swinging pitch at the Ageas Bowl.
Ben Duckett
Only the wet weather could stop Duckett beginning his campaign with a sensational triple century. The wicketkeeper-batsman was left stranded on 282 not out after hitting 38 fours and two sixes in hia 367-ball innings that lifted Northamptonshire to 481 for seven.
